This paper introduces an optimal gray-scale scanning structure of flat panel display and clarifies the value of the sub-space strategy

which is dividing the whole plane into a number of different regions (sub-space)

that ordered by the same weights sequences

separately scan them by the value of weight. Three different methods for the sub-space division strategy were proposed:traversal search

weight-symmetry iterate and genetic algorithm. The advantages and disadvantages of the three methods were compared with traditional methods

it can be found the new scanning strategy greatly increased the efficiency and reduced the operating frequency.
