Virtual reality space reconstruction based on visual space orientation theory
the virtual cyclopean eye is the reference center for stereo space orientation. There is difference between the cyclopean eye locations of different users
which is not considered in the virtual reality system when presenting the stereo images. The results of shooting simulation experiment showed that the human vision system is sensitive to the relative visual direction offset
and the slight difference between ideal and actual cyclopean eye locations will lead to significant perception difference. The vividness and interactivity of virtual reality system can be improved through considering the exact cyclopean eye location of the user. This paper analyzed the binocular visual direction computation theory
and proposed a virtual space reconstruction method based on the actual cyclopean eye location of specific user. The deviation brought by the cyclopean eye location shift is compensated by the opposite direction shift of the stereo camera system. The proposed method may provide theoretical reference for improving the vividness and interactivity of the virtual reality system.
