The structure and characteristics of double-twist structure of blue phase liquid crystal (BPLC) II are researched
the relationship between the defects and the structure of double-twist cylinder is analyzed
and the reason that produces the position of defects is explained. The traditional method which makes the model of BPLC II structure is described
and a new method to make the model of the BPLC II structure is proposed
the molecular arrangement in the whole space can be built. The optical characteristics are simulated using finite difference time domain method and the BPLCD II structure. When the circularly polarized light is used
the result showed that the transmissions of the left-handed and right-handed circularly polarized light are obviously different; the circularly polarized light which is same to the twist direction of BPLC is reflected in certain wavelength range.
