Design of MDDI Client Data Processing Circuit Used for AM-OLED Driver IC
Mobile Display Digital Interface(MDDI) is a high-speed serial digital interface standard
since it has many advantages such as less signal lines
higher signal transmission reliability
lower power consumption and the simpler circuits
it is widely used in the mobile display terminal. In order to meet the demand for higher resolution display
this paper proposes a novel design strategy for MDDI Type2 client data processing circuit which is used for the monolithic AM-OLED driver. In this design
the internal circuits are controlled with two-stage state machines
and the forward and the reverse link circuits are implemented separately which reduce the complexity of the circuit. And the circuit system supports sub panel control function. The paper completed the system architecture design and the Verilog coding. The synthesized results by Xilinx tools show that
this data processing circuit can support AM-OLED display with 480-RGB 320 resolution and 26k color image data
the maximum frequency of the input data is 180 MHz.
