S-shape

Abstract

A S-form functional representation of tone reproduction curve of liquid crystal displays was proposed by analyzing on the S-shape function and the S-curve function. In the experiments

tone reproduction curves (TRCs) of two LCD displays and a CRT display were measured by X-Rite Monitor Optimizer

and were fitted by the S-shape function

the S-curve function and the S-form function. Experimental results showed that S-form function fit the measured TRCs better than S-shape function and S-curve function

and that the S-form function is applicable to not only LCD displays but also CRT displays.
