Effect of Macro-Initiator and Curing Time on Electro-Optical Properties of Polymer Dispersed Liquid Crystal
consisting of low molecular liquid crystal dispersed in a polymer matrix
is a kind of film-formation material with excellent electro-optical properties. In this paper
PDLC films were prepared by photo-polymerization induced phase separation (PIPS) which was initiated by macro-iniferter agent prepared by atom transfer radical polymerization. It was found that the macro-iniferter was an effective way to improve the electro-optical properties of PDLC films. In addition
the properties of PDLC could also be adjusted through the curing time. It is found that as the curing time increase
the contrast ratio and the driving voltages of the films increase
