Influence of Chemical Structure of Monomers on Electro-Optical Characteristics of HPDLC Gratings
Holographic polymer dispersed liquid crystal is a kind of novel photoelectronomic information functional device. In this study
effect of chemical structure of monomers on holographic polymer dispersed liquid crystal gratings was investigated from the morphology
the diffraction efficiency
the electro-optical tunable performance and ene-conversions
respectively. The results showed that
the chemical structure of monomers plays an important role in performance of H-PDLC gratings. A rigid molecular structure forms a clear morphology
high diffraction efficiency and low threshold voltage gratings than a flexible molecular structure. In addition
the rigidity ring increases interactions between molecules and restricts the motion between them
thus enhances the phase separation
electro-optical characteristics and ene-conversions. On the other hand
with the rigid structure of monomer material increase
making the volume of LC droplets become smaller
LC regional narrow
so the drive voltage was increased
however
there is still a drop than flexible molecules. Therefore increa-sing the rigid structure of monomer reasonably can improve the phase separation and electro-optical properties of HPDLC gratings.
