Liquid-Crystal-on-Silicon(LCOS) microdisplay is a sort of display that operates in a reflective mode. And its perimeter-driver and active-pixel-matrix is fabricated on a silicon chip
which acts as substrate of the liquid-crystal-gap
using CMOS technology. So it has both small size in volume and high resolution for display. In this paper
