“According to the latest technology report, a light driven soft actuator based on liquid metal and liquid crystal elastomer has been unveiled. Through 4D printing technology, the actuator exhibits excellent deformation programmability. Experts have successfully prepared actuators with different orientation structures, exhibiting excellent photothermal performance. Under infrared laser irradiation, the actuator can quickly produce bending or convex deformation. This type of soft actuator has shown great potential for applications in medical, military, and soft robotics fields, opening up new paths for the development of related fields.”
